The King of Deception

Inspired by the greats, David Blaine, Criss Angel, Cyril Takayama, Derren Brown, David Copperfield, Lance Burton, and Penn & Teller, Blake has been immersed in magic since he was 19. He honed his craft in underground settings, performing street magic at bars, parties, poker games and special events. In 2016 he became a member of the Academy of Magical Arts, performing at the Magic Castle, one of the most prestigious venues in magic.

Magic isn't his only passion. Originally from Virginia, Blake moved to LA to pursue music, bringing a sound deeply inspired by '90s grunge. As a guitarist and vocalist, his style recalls the powerful, emotive delivery of Chris Cornell and Kurt Cobain, soulful, gritty and hauntingly melodic.

The Wonder Queen

Amy is the creative force behind Velvet Illusions, bringing her passion for performance, storytelling and visual art to every show. Originally from Brazil, her striking stage presence is matched by dynamic energy and artistic depth.

Before stepping into magic, Amy worked as a model in Brazil and developed a strong eye for visual storytelling through film school, photography and videography. In 2015 she moved to New York City to pursue music, performing as a street musician and joining the band Trapped in Static, with stages including the TCS New York City Marathon, Montauk Music Festival and Arlene's Grocery. Since moving to LA in 2020, she's continued to evolve as a multidisciplinary artist, combining music, magic and psychology into immersive experiences.

Blake and Amy first met in 2021 at a jam night in LA, where their shared love for music sparked an instant connection. But it wasn't until they combined their expertise in magic, performance and psychology that Velvet Illusions was born.

They set out to create an act that flips the script on traditional magic. Instead of the magician always being in control, their performances explore shifting dynamics and rich storytelling through illusion. Their earliest shows took place in bold, unconventional spaces, pushing creative boundaries and redefining what a modern magic show could be.

Velvet Illusions is not just for one audience. They craft unique scripts tailored to any event, blending magic with immersive storytelling that captivates, surprises and inspires, from private parties and festivals to family celebrations.
